Hunterhorn Centre of Therapeutic Massage

Relaxation Massage is designed to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest), increase circulation and decrease tension. The process by which this is obtained is to use massage therapy techniques that are not painful, but rather they are slow, deliberate and often involve the treatment of more superficial structures, using smooth, long kneading strokes. Warm hydrotherapy is often used to facilitate the PNS (parasympathetic nervous system) firing unless there is a health condition that would make the application of heat a contraindication.
